SC Housing Trust Fund
"
As authorized under Title III of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act (HERA) of 2008, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s new Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) will provide emergency assistance to acquire and redevelop foreclosed properties that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and blight within their communities. NSP funds are a special allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The NSP provides grants to every state and certain local communities. The program is targeted to households with incomes at or below 120 percent (120%) of the area
median income with a portion of the funds targeted to households at or below 50 percent (50%) of the area median income.
South Carolina as a whole will receive $49,158,407 in NSP funding."
