"But for what purposes is utopia invoked in our times, in this period of late capitalism, beyond the so-called ‘end of ideologies’, marked by the waning of the Cold-War era and collapse of the Soviet empire. Or is utopia simply a convenient term for the historicization of the aspirations of modernity and its programmes of social change?"
